In Dubai, one highlight is chasing the next. So what can you see in one, two or three days? The choice is not easy, because Dubai stands for a special holiday experience – and for every target group. Just to explore the countless and huge shopping malls, you would need several days. The desert just outside the city, numerous events and cultural attractions as well as two aqua parks and brand new: Dubai parks and resorts. There is nothing in this city that does not exist! Before we move on, this time we have planned a small stopover in Dubai and will spend a total of 3 days in the city.
With Emirates it goes (from Munich) quite comfortably in Airbus A380 to Dubai. Relaxed flying is not possible. As a vegetarian, I have ordered in advance my wish menu and enjoy the on-board service and the varied entertainment program. The total of 6 hours of flight are over faster than expected. Arriving in Dubai, we are first impressed by the huge, spacious airport. We take a taxi to our hotel, because taxi driving in Dubai is really cheap.
There are also hotels in Dubai for every budget: from the luxury resort to the hostel (!) Everyone will find their suitable accommodation. We opted for a little luxury and stayed 3 nights 5-star Hotel Conrad Dubai granted. The hotel is located on the famous Sheikh Zayed Road, just a few minutes from the nearest metro station, with a total of 54 floors, always offering beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area. We had booked the cheapest room category, but were baffled by the generously designed room – including chic bathroom with bathtub, rain shower and second TV. Ideal for relaxing: on the sixth floor of the hotel there is a landscaped oasis with pool, restaurant and bar.
Day 1 – Sightseeing tour to the museum, the souks and Burj Khalifa
After the first night, we enjoy the rich breakfast buffet the next morning and look forward to the friendly staff in the restaurant, in addition to the already wide selection a delicious pick-me offer (kiwi juice with lemon and mint).
Let's go to the city! First, we drive to Old Town and want in the Dubai Museum Learn a bit more about the history of Dubai. Unbelievable, but true: just 30 years ago, there were hardly any buildings along Sheikh Zayed Road. This before-and-after comparison is awesome! Everything is so exciting that we spend some more time in the little museum than we thought. It goes on direction Dubai Creekbecause we want to go to the other side of the river to go shopping in the souks. With small boats one sets over to the other side of the Dubai Creek, from where we then the old one Spice and Gold Souk explore. If you want to buy gold, you should inform yourself in advance about the current gold prices – we were just here to sniff and have bought delicious dates in chocolate and let it go well.
Back on the way to the hotel we have the most important stop of the day and are to Burj Khalifa hazards. Wow! The currently largest building in the world literally turns one over. Without a sufficient distance it fits on no photo … And the ride on the 828 m high building really worth it. There are two different viewing platforms "At the Top" and "Buj Khalifa Sky", whose visit must be planned and booked in advance. The ticket prices vary depending on the visit time and platform (from approx. 42 € p.P.). When can you say "I'm standing on the tallest building in the world" – not to mention the view!
Day 2 – Relaxing day at Burj al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah
Day two of our Dubai Stopovers is all about the sun, the beach and the sea. We drive direction Burj al Arab, the most famous landmark of the city. Directly in front of the Burj al Arab there is a public beach – ideal for cooling off in the sea and many great photos. A visit to the impressive hotel is not very cheap. If you still want to enjoy the breathtaking flair, you can also in Jumeirah Beach Hotel to eat out. The hotel in the form of a wave is right in front of the tower of the Arabs – the view of the building, beach and sea is breathtaking.
After our relaxed beach visit we continue to Dubai Marina, We booked a tour aboard a traditional dhow, including lunch. From the water we enjoy the unique view of the skyline of the new district and the "Dubai Walk". A leisurely ride with good food – just perfect.
During the boat tour we catch a glimpse of the first "palm fronds" of the artificially created "Palm Jumeirah", Our next and last stop for today.
At the top of the palm, so to speak, is the famous resort "Atlantis The Palm". Even if you are not a guest in this hotel, but you can with prior reservation, the restaurants of the hotel or the chic Nasimi Beach visit. A truly unique location with exclusive cuisine. Our highlight of the evening.
Day 3 – Crowning graduation in Dubai Parks & Resorts
A world of its own: Dubai Parks & Resorts, If you feel like having fun and action, you should definitely plan a trip to the parks. The huge area offers not only small but also large guests enough entertainment and plenty of variety. It is divided into several areas: Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Riverland Dubai. From the Schlumpfenland over the Ghostbusters to a huge Dreamworks hall with various theme countries for Shrek and Co., there is something exciting to see and experience on every corner.
Hundreds of shops and restaurants provide ample opportunities for small or large breather to recharge the batteries.
For us a completely successful and funny conclusion of our little tour through Dubai, before we take leave in the evening of the metropolis of superlatives.
